It's a love meme!
Nov. 1st, 2014 01:03 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
Because November is hard for lots of us, and in particular is something I find hard (my not-quite-month of mourning begins tomorrow, officially); because it's spring in the southern hemisphere and the days just keep getting shorter in the northern; because I talked to my counsellor yesterday about all of the shapes and forms that value takes.

This post will close to new nominations at the end of the month (because November), though I'll keep unscreening comments after that point if any new ones do come in.
♥ Nominate yourself or someone else, anonymously or logged-in, by putting your/their username in the subject line of a comment to this entry. If you do not know for certain the person's preferred pronouns and they do not list them on their DW profile, please use gender neutral pronouns as a default. Other people can then reply to that comment with goopy declarations of love, reasons that person is awesome, sparkly expressions of admiration, etc! All comments are screened, and I'll unscreen them as they arrive. (So, if your comment doesn't appear right away, please be patient; I'll leave my online status at the bottom of this post to keep people updated on whether I'm unscreening or not.)
♥ If you don't want to be nominated, or don't want comments referring to certain things [body/appearance, wrong pronouns, etc] to appear on your thread, please let me know; I won't unscreen any such comment or nomination. If I make a mistake in unscreening something, if you want a comment to your thread unscreened or deleted, if you have any concerns you need to raise -- please just tell me, and I'll attend to it as soon as I can. If there are any inappropriate comments made to a thread, I will check with the person being referred to before unscreening.
♥ Share the love: please do send people over here (and to your own thread!) Words-and-deeds it up if you like, but that's not obligatory!

Re: staranise
Date: 2014-11-09 04:36 pm (UTC)Occasionally I find our similarities make it easier for me to be kinder to myself, because you are so clearly striving to live a life in proportion with your principles and the great gifts of insight you have cultivated in yourself, and struggling with many of the same uncertainities that depression poses to insight and seems at times to make mockery of it.
(I have been trying to write some version of this comment here or on one of your recent posts for several days, and am feeling very inarticulate at getting to the part where feeling finds form in sense; please be patient with me!)
What I am trying to get at is this, I think: at times you are open about the hard things in your life in a way that utterly takes my breath away, and sometimes makes me teary for feeling less alone in having experienced similar things. And I guess I'm going to have to resort to poetry after all, because otherwise this comment is just going to go on and on and on. ;o)
What I Mean When I Say 'Depressed'
Where Light Gets In
Load-Bearing
I am very, very grateful to have you among my circle here on DW. I hope to get less awkward about admiring you greatly and wanting to be always Very Articulate in commenting on things you write, because I'd rather be vulnerable imperfect with you and be more your friend than dance at a distance in a mutual admiration society
however dragon happy my pride might be at the concept of 'mutual admiration' oh brain. Some specific things you do (since I know how much specific helps with brainthings): I think your tumblr curation of things is among the best I've encountered, and I miss daily tumblr checking these days mostly because I miss seeing what you and a very small handful of other people are finding interesting and worthy of note these days. Can there be a 'BFF' version of 'OTP'? If yes, you + felines would definitely be one of mine. I admire what you bring to your work and the advocacy you do there and elsewhere around helping the world arc more to justice and more to access for kids who have such need and are often surrounded by people who write them off.
I have faith (not phrasing I usually tend to, but feels right here) that your life also will arc to justice and access for you. It may take a long time; it very likely will be full of unexpected curves, sorrows and graces and laughter and incredibly hard things. But I hope you know and trust that you have people to lean on, and that I count myself among them.
Also, someday, oneday, I will get to feed you my cooking (if that would please you) instead of occasional words, because that is a thing I offer my friends, and I count you among them. :o)
Yours,
J.J.
