It's a love meme!

Because November is hard for lots of us, and in particular is something I find hard (my not-quite-month of mourning begins tomorrow, officially); because it's spring in the southern hemisphere and the days just keep getting shorter in the northern; because I talked to my counsellor yesterday about all of the shapes and forms that value takes.

This post will close to new nominations at the end of the month (because November), though I'll keep unscreening comments after that point if any new ones do come in.

If you do not know for certain the person's preferred pronouns and they do not list them on their DW profile, please use gender neutral pronouns as a default. Thank you for all your thoughtful book reviews, both at your journal and at Goodreads - they've helped me a lot. And thank you particularly for your review of The Scorpio Races - because why on earth would I have wanted to read a book about carnivorous water horses? - but it is now one of my very, very favorites. ♥

And I don't know if I said thank you enough for the ride home that time - it was such a help to us in a stressful time. And even though our fandoms don't overlap too much, it was great to have someone fannish to talk to!

I like that you're thoughtful and discerning about trashy media, and goofy and fun about Serious Literature (and vice-versa). You don't draw a line between Stuff To Analyse and Stuff To Make Dumb Jokes About, in either direction, which means you're always a fun and interesting person to talk to about things.

Really jaw-droppingly smart, yet so cheerful and loveable and unconcerned about it that I never bother being intimidated and have indeed said all kinds of dumbass things in her presence to no ill effect. One of my favourite people, really.

And seriously -- not, I protest that you ever could or would sound like a dumbass, regardless of the company -- among we nerds, I think "comfortable saying whatever pops into your head without worrying about ill effect" is a great measure of friendship.
