It's a love meme!

Because November is hard for lots of us, and in particular is something I find hard (my not-quite-month of mourning begins tomorrow, officially); because it's spring in the southern hemisphere and the days just keep getting shorter in the northern; because I talked to my counsellor yesterday about all of the shapes and forms that value takes.

This post will close to new nominations at the end of the month (because November), though I'll keep unscreening comments after that point if any new ones do come in.

I love that you're so /open/ about the things you struggle with. I admire that, and envy it a little, because I still try to "put the best face" on things. Your way is much, much healthier, I think.

I really missed not having in person contact with you at Wiscon this year because of my conflicting commitments. It's always lovely to see you and spend some time together. Next year??

I missed you too. I'm starting to have doubts about making it to Wiscon next year though. Phoebe's graduation is the previous weekend. That probably sounds like not even a conflict -- I remember the year you took two transatlantic trips a fortnight apart! -- but I'm just not used to leaving my dogs so much!

you are one of the most loving people i know. as you know, bob, love is a set of behaviors, and you are so damn good at them. i wish we lived closer so we could maybe eat food at the same time and companionably ignore each other.

boxofdelights gave me guest-shelter on a very long trip once, and it was one of the most lyrical and contemplative stops on the whole expedition. I still think of it every now and then with gratitude.

I read here that folks think of your kindness. Don't brush that aside. You *think* of others. It is a skill and not one that everyone has. I admire what a great mom you are; your kids are awesome and you are a huge part of that. You are a fabulous Wiscon roomie. And you volunteered to read my stuff! I think you know what a huge thing that is. *And* if it wasn't for you, at least two of my nefarious plans would not have come to fruition! To tell you the bare truth, I've always been a little shy with you because you are so rock star fantastic in so many ways.
