It's a love meme!

Because November is hard for lots of us, and in particular is something I find hard (my not-quite-month of mourning begins tomorrow, officially); because it's spring in the southern hemisphere and the days just keep getting shorter in the northern; because I talked to my counsellor yesterday about all of the shapes and forms that value takes.

This post will close to new nominations at the end of the month (because November), though I'll keep unscreening comments after that point if any new ones do come in.

You have had so much to handle lately, and you're demonstrating such strength and grace in how you deal with unbearable loss. I know that the fact you're strong doesn't mean you're hurting less than someone who might fall apart in similar circumstances, so I'm concerned for you as well as admiring you. But I do admire you, very much indeed. Also for making sensible thoughtful comments in various internet discussions that really help people, including me.

Thank you. It is good to have friends who can see that being strong is a way of dealing with grief and pain, and doesn't mean I'm not feeling them.

You are an intelligent and caring person, who works to make the world better for those around her. I know from both observation and testimony (hers) that you did an immense amount to help Velma, both with her and Soren's health issues, and in general.

I only know you through comments in mutual friends' journals, but you always have sensible things to say and seeing your icon always makes me feel like I'm in a lovely kitchen having a chat with lovely people, which is an excellent thing to feel.

I am super fond of your day-to-day minutiae, and your quiet enthusiasms, and your talking about food, and your thoughtful examinations of this & that & the other, & your quiet thoughtful engagement with others in open-ended ways that don't demand conclusions. For all these things I am grateful.
