-- thank you so much; I am so looking forward to seeing the story you want to tell.

In general terms: I have a lot of feelings about families lost & found & chosen, and about loyalty, and about being fiercely alive, and about being othered and monstered and embracing that and defining what it means rather than letting it define you. I like fluff and intensity and delicious angsty pining (I was in Check, Please! fandom before The Kiss okay) and character studies and... honestly pretty much everything. Sweeping descriptions of mountains? Yep I will take those too. Whatever you would like to write. <3

In terms of sex-related squicks (should you feel moved to write sex; I really don't mind either way), pretty much the only restriction is that I would like there to be enthusiastic informed consent for any on-screen sex. Elsewise I'd rather not read descriptions of broken bones (especially hands) or damage to teeth; particularly for the Craft Sequence respectful (by which I mostly mean "sincere and good faith") handling of gender, trauma and disability matters to me.

I include slightly more detailed specific notes below in case you'd like something to bounce off, but as I say: really I am just looking forward to the story you have to tell.

Happy housiversary: my housemate and I have been living together for a year as of today in our ridiculous flat with our ridiculous lives, and she just took the time to spend five minutes curled up on me on my sofa catching up before running out the door again. It is pretty great.

I just sent myself an e-mail containing the following:

I am having feelings about access to speech.

I wrote two things for Yuletide this year: At the going down of the sun, in the Vorkosiverse, an oral biography/history of Olivia Vorbarra Vorkosigan's life and how she got involved with Piotr anyway; and a treat in the Mechsverse, specifically about the Sirens in Ulysses Dies At Dawn: You'll Reign Supreme. Two things to note: (1) I now want to write Ulysses-fic about the Furies; (2) to my utter bafflement, the Vorkosigan fic has immediately become the most liked thing I've ever written??? Which I suppose is a little reassuring given that I wasn't convinced I'd done a terribly good job of it.

I have discovered that I can reliably do French and Dutch braids tolerably neatly on myself. This is excellent because it means that my hair is less of a disaster when I go a week without brushing it, which makes Dealing With It less intimidating; it's also excellent for reasons including "it does a better job of keeping my hair off my face" and "people's reactions are really funny".

I am poking at my brain quite hard and will post about it soon.

Austin & Murry-O'Keefe Families: Self-Evident, ~2k words. Tone is bang-on and I want to hug it a lot, though slightly to my surprise I find myself going "POLY FIXES EVERYTHING" (spoiler alert: not actually true). Meg-centric.

Sleeping Beauty: Eldest, ~1k words. Maleficent-centric: narrative imperative, and how she got where she is.

Cities Anthropomorfic, Capital, ~2k words. London. Maybe she seemed familiar because I was falling in love with her, and that’s what falling in love is like.

Much Ado About Nothing, Sonnet 1, ~1.5k words. A charming little piece of Beatrice/Benedick interaction WITH POETRY.

TWO MONKS INVENT MR. DARCY.

Tiffany Aching (Discworld), every map is blank, ~1k words. I did a cry. I always do a cry about Tiffany.

Imperial Radch - Ann Leckie: teatime, in which no-one ships Skaaiat and Awn harder than Justice of Toren One Esk (BECAUSE IT'S A SHIP), which is a fic I was contemplating writing so I am super glad I don't have to; Sweet Awakening, in which Ship and Kalr Five look after Breq;

Much Ado About Nothing - Shakespeare: Clear As Day is an adorable little ladies-looking-out-for-each-other drabble.

Orphan Black: Devil's Trap. Drabble. Gave. me. chills. Ladies being very broken and very, very awesome.

The Paper Bag Princess - Robert Munsch: The Dragon's Confession is 300 charming words on the topic of wanting to impress people and being scared of inadequacy. ♥

The Scorpio Races - Maggie Stiefvater: A Promise. :D :D :D :D 266 lovely solemn certain words about flesh-eating water-horses.

Vienna Teng - Whatever You Want: It's Over (But It's Only Just Begun). Drabble. Vicious and pointed and poignant all at once, with the mood just right.

Thank you so much for writing for me! I am delighted and grateful. :-)

In general I'm a massive queermo and very much in favour of Queers Being Awesome and Trans Folk Being Awesome and Ladies Being Awesome etc etc. I also have a lot of feelings about families lost and found and chosen. I'm not terribly interested in sex (er, in general, though also reading about it); I don't object but please do not feel obliged! By mid-winter I tend to be feeling a bit miserable so happy endings are much appreciated, but getting there the hard way isn't a problem.

I am sure I will love whatever it is you write! I am only too pleased for you to follow your own muse and will adore the result. (Tell me if I'm being too effusive?) However, slightly more specific notes on requests follow if you want something to bounce off.

Thank youuuuuuuu <333

Yuletide!

Fandoms nominated: Strong Female Protagonist, and both of Benjanun Sriduangkaew's fictional universes.

Not nominated because I know y'all have got this: Imperial Radch.

Things I have not nominated that are not listed that I'd like to see: Dicebox (I so could not write for Dicebox), 10 Things I Hate About You, A Knight's Tale, Labyrinth

Things I have spotted in the unofficial spreadsheet that I would like to write for: Tiffany Aching series, Orphan Black, ... yeah okay I'd probably write Sharing Knife stuff, Old Man's War series, Imperial Radch series, Blow Me (One Last Kiss), His Dark Materials, The Scorpio Races (!!!!!!!), The Middleman (!!!)

My Yuletide notes document is currently running at ~3300 words, of which a shade over 1000 are plot outline, about 20 are actual words I might intend to use, and the rest are background notes.

... guess I can do something with this concept after all. I was briefly scared I couldn't.

(This is first Yuletide, okay. I have performance anxiety.)

This is a placeholder, and I promise you I will write you something helpful very, very soon. xx

Thank you. Lots. This is my first time participating in Yuletide and I don't quite know what I'm doing and I am excited and very grateful and I will love whatever you write for me, I am sure.

As is probably obvious from my optional details, what I'd really love is ladies being awesome (with an option on lost and found and chosen families). I don't tend to be terribly interested in reading about sex (though of course that doesn't mean you shouldn't write it); I would like something fluffy or cheerful or at least uplifting rather than generally horrifying, if that is a thing you can manage, because I tend to be in need of a boost by the time midwinter rolls around.

Beyond that, I don't really have any specific requests - I would just love for you to have fun. And again, thank you so much. <3
