Reading. More comfort reading. T. Kingfisher, Paladin's Grace (reread) and Paladin's Strength. Exactly the id one might expect. I went back to PG two chapters into PS when I realised I wanted to remember who on Earth everybody was, and am very glad I did. It continues very soothing.

Martha Wells, All Systems Red, Artificial Condition, and Rogue Protocol. I think I am actually enjoying these more on the reread, with significantly less grumpiness about worldbuilding and significantly more Yes Murderbot Good Though. Autistic cyborgs for meeeeeeeee. (Reread also in the spirit of remembering who everyone is for when the new novella which I have pre-ordered is released soon.)

Writing. Mrrgh. First draft of first chunk of chapter 6, and a start on the second chunk. Also a graph ().

Watching. CXG S02E13, which, my goodness; I am going to attempt to write this up Properly at some point this week. (While procrastinating.)

Playing. We finished Myst IV, with copious reference to the Universal Hint System and a great deal of grumbling about terrible UI. Atrus and Catherine are SUCH ABYSMAL PARENTS, good GRIEF. Also none of Sirrus' plan makes any fucking sense and I don't see how any of the climactic sequence makes any sense and that is not even mentioning the inexplicable five-minute high-tech 00s screensaver sequence.

We have started Wuppo. We are dubious about the usefulness of its coop mode, and I think also dubious about the dialogue, but we are definitely enjoying the faces the wums pull.

(Horn. Dragons.)

Cooking. New this week: Ottolenghi pearl barley risotto with marinated feta. The feta is very good; the "risotto" is pleasantly edible but probably not going to enter our rotation.

Making & mending. I reapplied the rotary tool to my bike! I have both primed and painted over the exposed steel! And, thanks to all of you yesterday, I have in fact I think managed to order all the spare parts I need for repairs (and for bonus points managed to ravel, I think, the inner brake cable I'd fucked up, though not to such an extent that I actually anticipate being able to thread it back through the cable housing -- we'll see).

Growing. I have potted up the chillis and the sweet basil, both of which are looking much happier with it. I continue to wage war against the aphids. The blueberry is in ongoing flower. I sowed some parsley, which might if I am very lucky actually germinate (I didn't dry the seeds properly). The fig is unfurling.

The peppers are not yet sown but I am set up with coconut coir and paper pots and the seeds so hopefully I will manage this tomorrow, in spite of everything being Exceedingly Executive Function.

I am very much enjoying the green, and the cowslip that is bravely growing in the lawn.

Wuppo is exceedingly weird, but worth the 79p we paid for it...

Re: Myst IV - they had a Peter Gabriel song and damnit they were going to make sure that you heard it, one way or another.
