On the one hand, it is sort of obvious why I've decided I want to have another go at working out how Continental knitting works for a project that involves reversible cables and ribbing on DPNs.

On the OTHER, this feels like a bit of a trial-by-fire given that my problem has historically been tension...

It took me a while to get my yarn tension right for Continental knitting, but it did eventually happen. I also struggled with purls until I happened to see someone in a bank queue Continental purling in a way that made sense to my brain and hands. And then I learned about Norwegian purling and have been doing that more recently. Hang in there--the relative ease of alternating knit and purl stitches with Continental knitting is worth it!
