[fandom] brief TMA S5 observation
Jun. 26th, 2020 09:16 pmI am very aware that the first season of The Magnus Archives started out looking like an anthology: largely disconnected stories with no overarching plot, and Jon having a bunch of feelings he's trying to cover up.
So far, S5 has also been... a bunch of fairly disconnected stories, One Per Fear, only this time we can see at least some of the plot because we "know" how they're connected. In theory.
As we know, in hindsight, in S1 the Plot is there all along -- it's just a while before it breaches the surface.
This time it's got the added camouflage, of course, of We Think We Know What's Happening.
I suspect. The structural parallels are... too neat and far too precise for me to not be squinting suspiciously, and wondering when it's all (as it were) going to click into focus.
