[fandom] brief TMA S5 observation

I am very aware that the first season of The Magnus Archives started out looking like an anthology: largely disconnected stories with no overarching plot, and Jon having a bunch of feelings he's trying to cover up.

So far, S5 has also been... a bunch of fairly disconnected stories, One Per Fear, only this time we can see at least some of the plot because we "know" how they're connected. In theory.

As we know, in hindsight, in S1 the Plot is there all along -- it's just a while before it breaches the surface.

This time it's got the added camouflage, of course, of We Think We Know What's Happening.

I suspect. The structural parallels are... too neat and far too precise for me to not be squinting suspiciously, and wondering when it's all (as it were) going to click into focus.

As you know bob I am firmly in "you know what at this point we're as ignorant as we were in S1 I will not even theorize until at least two thirds thru the season". Sooo yeah.

Whereas I am now at the point where I will theorize a bit, but in the full and happy expectation that I'm going to be wrong-footed. If nothing else, it'll be interesting to look back on how I was set up to expect X, but then actually Y!
