Every day of my life is a transformative work: an essay about my relationship with my body, and how coming to terms with being trans* and coming to terms with being disabled have changed it - and about the parallels I feel between those experiences.

It is also navel-gazey as all get-out ;)

I think you have identified an Important Thing - the way you (also others) represent yourself in a shifting way based on both a shifting internal wossname and external factors and the lack of tuits to bash people in the head for getting it wrong again (people suck).

A lot of the external factors suck (stupid stairs); but even in a world without external suck you still have the internal changes going on. It's clearly unreasonable to expect people to conform to some ideal notion of whatever-it-is-they-are, although better than expecting all people to conform to the same thing it's really not all the way there yet.
