Currently in this household: putting https://www.dceaglecam.org/ on the big TV in the background, and yelling EGGS EGGS EGGS EGGS EGGS at each other every time they're visible.

This is Particularly Exciting this year because big TV means we can Do That while actually getting on with useful things (as those of you who have visited Will Appreciate) rather than dedicating a laptop screen to the job. I am v much looking forward to the yelling turning into SMOL BIRB and FEEP, in due course and the fullness of time.

I haven't owned a TV in years, and it took me the longest time to figure out why one would even want one if one doesn't tend to do TV-related activities socially. But then: yes. A TV lets you have something on while doing other things and still getting a meaningful amount of visual information. there are times when that might be nice.

We have access to This Ridiculous TV because our flat is our landlord's Man Cave (his words) and then Surprise Bab, so he needed somewhere to store a frankly preposterous TV while Surprise Bab, and this flat seemed as good a place as any given it was already on the wall brackets...

But A & I are also watching a few series together as social activity (he is marathoning Elementary in preparation for season 6; we're working through Leverage; he's partway through Korra; etc), which this also makes easier? But the thing I am most excited about having this for is definitely DEFINITELY the birds.

(Probably also other wildlife cams -- it's quite nice having Atmospheric Jellyfish just sort of blooping away to themselves -- but Most Excite About Birds.)
