It's taken about 12 months since I first started filling out the form (and to be fair, five of those months involved me being too crazy to finish it), but I've just been awarded Disability Living Allowance at a sensible rate. :-)

They initially said I wasn't disabled. lulz including an appeal ensued. However, I was expecting it to go to tribunal, and... apparently they changed their mind before that point :-)

Yay. Sort of. Two cheers, anyway: it's good that you've got it, less good that it took so long, not at all good that you need it; and appalling that their strategy hints at automatic rejection without regard to need, with a cynical calculation that they can get away with that on everyone who lacks the resources to mount an appeal.

Quite. The rates they've given me... eh, the care component is reasonable, but they've only given me lower-rate mobility. And, yes, I'm borderline lower/higher rate on mobility... but they've very carefully judged it so that I won't appeal *again*, because I don't have the energy.
