(1) I am a bit groggy and out of it post Minor Medical Procedure for Mystery Menstrual Symptoms; A was v good about shunting me around the hospital when I was too sore to particularly want to push myself/bringing me things/etc. Everything looked healthy; I was a Model Patient; biopsy results are unlikely to show anything concerning, so ??????????

(2) House viewing this morning was VERY CONFUSING. It has a garden! That contains a well-tended hydrangea, and rose bushes, and fruiting apple and plum and probably-cherry (there's definitely a cherry, I'm just not sure whether it's ornamental), and maybe a crabapple, and a vegetable patch, and a patio. And a nice kitchen. And the conservatory would be dining room/games room/music room and would be lovely esp. in the rain. So now I'm just trying to convince us (... myself) that we'd actually be able to fit the furniture into it, which is currently proving Difficult; I am intending to ask to have another viewing and actually take a tape measure this time. (Wider wheelchair just about fits in the front door. It's rampable. I should be able to get a powerchair in. There's an airing cupboard for letting dough rise in. Etc etc etc...)

...so if the wheelchair fits and it's rampable, which iirc your current place is NOT, and is otherwise amenable in terms of cost/etc?

Furniture is replaceable. :P Or can be stuck in storage or whatever. Level-entry wheel-chair-works plus the rest of the lovely stuff represents such a huge quality-of-life issue it would just be really sad (again assuming it's amenable for monies etc) if brain got stuck on "but my COUCH won't fit!" or whatever. It is way easier to replace furniture than it is to find amenable house-shapes.

Suggestion on powered wheechair fit. Find the footprint of something typical, ideally one of the 6-wheeled types, and cut out a bit of cardboard to size. If you can drop it on the floor and rotate it around corners you're probably okay.

Well, yeah. But I mean I know that housing in London is as bad as housing here? And even worse in terms of making for accessibility stuff? Sooooo. I feel like “the wheelchair can move around in this house, and this house EXISTS, and is within price-range/etc” makes for Very Heavy on the scales. Like, very heavy. And I want to say it aloud and pretty firmly due to my knowledge of YOUR brain’s tendency to . . . mis-weight things to do with your life quality simply because it is YOUR life-quality (only to have that potentially build up over time and go snap because it turns out humans have limits <3) and you shouldn’t be (according to your jerkbrain) weighting it much at all.

And how sneaky jerkbrains can be about that especially when you’ve recently kicked them into accepting SOME kind of “no I need to do thing for my life quality”. So.

Which makes bird-in-the-hand-worth-two-in-the-bush applicable. And closer to work/etc is also a HUGE gain, and furniture can go into storage/see if someone else can store it for you instead of Gotten Rid Of Completely if there is sentimental attachment to that extent? So yeah.

(like obvs I am not the boss of you and you are the one with all the details. I just wanted to pull out some Things and Aspects that I feel deserve hard contemplation. <3)

That sounds like an amazing house, in general and for you in particular, and I would like to echo [personal profile] recessional's reasons for encouraging you to get it unless you turn up a dealbreaker of some sort.

May the medical whatsits be as manageable and hassle-free as possible <3

1. Sympathies, and hope the grogginess and associated problems go away soon.

2. I am probably due a trip to $Area soon (it's less inconvenient than a lot of central London for me), so shout if you want an extra pair of hands if/when you end up moving.

I swear we replied to this already so I'm really confused/off balance. :S But I'm glad that surgery stuff went well/everything seems to indicate well. And I'm really glad you found an accessible house- That seems to be an incredibly rare find.
