Notes on podiatry
Apr. 6th, 2016 06:18 pm- functional rather than physical leg-length difference arising due to hip rotation (right hip needs to come forward, self)
- very plantar fasciitis such nerve involvement wow (actually nerve involvement isn't toooo bad but does exist)
- L5-ish involvement?? lower back involvement, at any rate; if I get the tingly wossname in my great toes I'm to reengage core muscles.
- the reason the orthotics without heel raises were setting off knees etc is how tight everything is; orthotics now have heel raises in and I'm to gradually work toward taking the heel raises off (hahaha the reason heels feel so much better is that left entirely to their own devices my leg muscles have already done the thing where they've tightened up enough that etc)
- when doing physio, make sure kneecap is pointing straight forward/upward, then rotate foot around ankle to bring second toe in line with kneecap
- wear orthotics while doing balance work!
- more physio: roll ball/rolling pin under arches (plantar fasciitis)
- more physio: use long belt/scarf to very gently stretch calf muscles (long enough not to pull shoulders/back out; on floor or on two chairs; make sure knee's supported; make sure foot's rotated per the above, so that inner calf muscles engage too; 3 sets of 5 reps of 30 seconds each, or as that's never going to happen, build up to a set of 10 reps)
