Every time I close my eyes at the moment, I get a flash of visualisation of something not unlike this...

(That is mostly how I am. Also I am a bit averse to socialising because either (a) I have to go to a place, and that is difficult, or (b) I have to ask people to come to my place, and that might mean they feel unable to say no! -- um. Hello people I like you but my brain & body conspire against me sorry.)

Wow...I hadn't realized that sections of igneous rocks looked that much like a kaleidoscope. Pretty!

Yeah, that is the plus side of petrology - every time I feel like throwing in the towel I can sit myself down with a microscope and some slides and just wallow. :-) I'm intending to get some illustrative photos of the stuff I'm working on at some point in the next few weeks, and they'll probably go up here.
