Bloods results from Friday afternoon came in. Or, well, some of them did. The ones that were actually supposed to happen this Friday coming -- the 6-week anaemia checkup that I decided to roll in with the kidney & liver function tests endoscopy needs -- have shown up, and... my serum ferritin is lower than it was five weeks ago! Despite having been taking my supplements Optimally throughout that five-week period! And is in fact now outside the lab's reference range. Good job me.
Phlebotomy, alas, appear to have managed to mislay the tube of blood for which I did not have The Big Printed Sheet Of Paper, even though I verbally checked like three times that they'd got it, even after I'd seen them pull the order form up on the screen and print out the labels which they then put on the vials.
This I discovered when I got a call from colorectal this afternoon to go "... um... your GP blood results are in but not... the ones... we need?" So I was very I PROMISE I ASKED AND WATCHED THEM DO THE THING and now I am going back in tomorrow lunchtime to give over another vial, which hopefully will get what we need. This time I will ask phlebotomy reception to print out the paper order form, which I hadn't realised I needed to last week...
Must also remember to pick up the Plenvu; happily the part where I'm five minutes down the road from the hospital does in this instance mean that they're going to save money by not posting the stuff to me in a parcel, which would involve a significantly higher carbon footprint...
