Playing. Lots more Chroma! We finished the first set of puzzles (initiation) yesterday, very satisfyingly, and are halfway through 2.02 manipulation...
I was also extremely smug about Redactle #213 (two words in title, completed in two guesses) and only slightly less so about #203 (one word in title, also two guesses). I do not appear to have mentioned here, in contrast, "Postmodernism", which took me 1166 guesses... in part because I got "post" as guess 102 and "modernism" as guess 103, and that showed up in a bunch of the body text -- notably in quotations from major figures -- and it just! did not! occur to me! to try without the hyphen! until I gave up around guess 1150 and started pootling around wikipedia pages on analytic and continental philosophy for likely terms...)
Cooking. Fachingskrapfen/Seelkuchen, for All Souls'; Mama's recipe, which I'd never previously used, because I didn't realise it differed from Gretel Beer's (Classic Austrian Cooking. family happily recommends as an English-language source if you've ever been curious; warning that the index is abysmal) -- but my mother messaged me expressing surprise at my baby brother's request for suggestions on how to adapt Gretel Beer's recipe to be safe-for-him ("double cream?! there oughtn't to be any double cream!" approx), so given she'd dug it out for him I requested a copy too.
And they were the best I've ever made, I think, with Gretel Beer's correct Pale Band Around The Middle! And they left me two egg whites to turn into amaretti, so I now have another batch of that.

Growing. All of the saffron I have in various places at home is coming up! I expected none of it to, but it exists both here and at the allotment! To which I made it on Monday, and did a tiny bit of weeding, but haven't managed again since.
