vital functions
Nov. 13th, 2022 10:24 pmReading. I am taking a break from Migraine, for reasons that will rapidly become apparent.

Writing. I have a just-shy-of-6k-word first draft of the second round of migraine complaint. A has been through it once. I have Major Structural Thoughts. I will pick it back up Tomorrow (and then see what the patient advocacy organisation I'm contacting for support makes of the entire... situation... that is me). tl;dr consultant's response to my first round of complaint involves repeated and egregious misunderstanding (or, worse, misrepresentation!) of the relevant medical literature, to the extent that I can quote the bits of the papers she's citing that explicitly contradict her in more than one instance.
Playing. More Chroma! We are currently Paused at 2.04 disintegration; I solved one Problem Chamber the other evening and was very smug (the red room at the bottom) but we have Several we are Still Working On gradually...
Cooking. Oh gosh. Um. I made a somewhat indifferent Apfelstrudel (I was Too Overwrought to actually stretch the pastry thin enough all the way around); we also did confit leek with green lentils & leek cream from the Ottolenghi good things book A got me when it came out.
Eating. Remarkably good vegan pastry (curried chickpeas/cauliflower/etc) from the National Trust café at Hatfield Forest.
Exploring. Hatfield Forest! My mother invited me/us; we had Refreshments and went on a Walk and there were lots of good mushrooms. AND! a large ball of mistletoe considerately at just-above-head-height in a somewhat blasted hawthorn, which meant we got to examine the parisitism up close! Which was fun.
Growing. My mother has donated some basil. I made the supermarket provide me with thyme, 10g of which (!) went into the confit leeks, and the rest of which I am going to separate and plant up.
