Veggie puttanesca.
Slice some garlic thinly. Put it and some chilli (I use dried crushed because it's what I have) in some olive oil and fry it gently for a bit. Add sliced olives (I use black), capers, and sliced tinned artichokes. Immediately add tomato (I have been sieving chopped tomatoes from a tin, but there is no need to bother with that). Add dried herbs at this stage, or fresh rather later, and in any case add an inadvisable amount of black pepper.
Serve on spaghetti.
