Writing. Revisions to paper are... most of the way there? Or at least most of the way to where I will send them to my supervisor and say "I just Cannot, please take a look and have opinions". Responses-to-reviewers more-or-less finalised, though, unless I decide I should not half-arse the question of Deep Mantle Primitive Reservoirs quite as much as I currently am. I am, alas, still behind where I wanted to be by the end of this week, and for bonus points I am in general having a bit of a crisis (this much at least is entirely on schedule) about how Nothing I Ever Write Will Ever Be Good Enough.

On the upside, I briefly soothed myself today by remembering that an outright fail is basically not on the cards, which means the realistic worst-case scenario is I get major corrections and another year to think about things and tidy them up, which is... kind of exactly what I've been saying I want? So there's that.

Listening. TMA 185, about which screaming.

Playing. I find myself getting quite frustrated with the amount of Stuff PoGo is shoving at me.

In contrast, I am really enjoying the amount of self-directed poking-about Flight Rising will let you do, and I have accumulated... more dragons. Including some hatchlings that are pretty much exactly what I was aiming for, even if I didn't realise it for a day or so after opening them up.

Horn: mostly single notes. Occasional longer arpeggios. Muscles deteriorating less rapidly and objectionably than I had been expecting, which is nice.

Cooking. I accidentally an apple-and-plum pie, which because I'd made 250g of butter worth of pastry meant I further disrupted the Meal Plan (which worked surprisingly well for me in terms of Defaults; it was nice; I will see if I can repeat the experiment) by making quiche. Fio de Rio Gordo tomatoes continue to make actually the best cheese-and-tomato quiche I have ever achieved, such that it's a good thing that I want to make more of, and also I think I'm improving some at actual quiche contents, too. And then I followed up the pie with apple-and-blackberry crumble, because it's definitely autumn.

I hung around fiddling with bits while A made tiramisu this evening, so we've that to come.

Creating. Painted A colours... goodness, last weekend, already, but I don't think I noted it here? Anyway, it wasn't finalised 'til Monday, and I now have a not-terribly-flattering photograph I might throw up here just to document it a bit.

Growing. It was ~600g of tomatoes last week, all in, and I've had another small handful this week from my one allotment trip, but not really enough even to be quite worth weighing. I also brought home a somewhat dubious pepper. Foundling chillis are now thinking about setting fruit which is frankly a bit late in the season, but I'll think about bringing them (and the purple chillis) home to try overwintering indoors and see if those work.

I need at some point to work out when to harvest the Gigantes beans, which do exist, though probably not in sufficiently large quantities for anything other than storing to try again next year. (Preferably in daylight. The harvesting, that is.)

Observing. PATIO FOX PATIO FOX PATIO FOX. The garden fox came RIGHT up on the patio and peered in through the French doors at us, lit against a generally murky backdrop of night, with its ears all big and mobile and expressive.

I love seeing foxes so much. They seem so -- well, like you say, expressive, and also intelligent and curious.

Someone defined foxes as cat software running on dog hardware. I think that says it very well.

Yay fox! ^_^

We have feral [introduced] foxes here in Australia and one stole someone's picnic basket from a group of people who were picknicking in a large local park!
