Today was... exciting, in that I was expecting to have a 15-minute phone call at some point in a three-hour block this morning, regarding the Level 2 Certificate in Counselling, and instead I got a call from the endocrinologist at my GIC that I'd been vaguely aware was going to happen at Some Point but had been steadfastly ignoring because overwhelm.

I eventually sent an e-mail in to the college to ask What Gave, and did finally get contact back, and What Gives is:

and we've got down that you've already done the written assessment!
... oh.
okay, here's the written assessment we want you to do, please return by e-mail by Monday (questions including "Reflect on one difficulty you have experienced" and "Describe two significant things that you learned about yourself during training or listen practice?"); obv. I am promptly having a panic about scope, even though the answer is very clearly "less than a third of a page of A4 for each" (and also say whether I want evening or daytime, and Tuesday or Thursday)
once that's done, I should expect to have a group interview and an individual interview scheduled, both remote
all teaching will be remote until at least the end of January whereupon they'll reassess, but for some reason (...) the accrediting body doesn't want all teaching to be online-only
so they're currently hoping to switch to one week socially-distanced in-person, one week remote, as of Januaryish, if safe to do so, followed by shifting to entirely in-person in the run up to exams/assessments
which I don't love the idea of, but am willing to cope with for now, because it's honestly better than I was expecting

(The belated eventual phone call was, naturally, summoned via the expedient of making another six jars of blackberry jam, though to my utter astonishment it came while my hands were not full decanting from maslin pan into hot glassware...)
