Yes. It's so painfully understandable how she found herself in that situation. And I was saying to kore that the fact that he genuinely seems to be an incredibly nice guy can't have helped, because it's so easy to get into the tangle of how can you possibly leave someone who's so nice etc. etc. etc.; if he was more of an arsehole, she might have been able to end it much sooner and maybe less painfully.
And you can also see why it must have hurt like hell for him to have to hear "Actually I was never really into you anyway, I just didn't know how to leave you."
