There are several; one that has been largely retired (but I understand is still sometimes used particularly by older BSL users) involves reference to nose shape; the one we've been taught sketches out the shape and location of twisted payot (though that's not the sign that either Spread the Sign or Sign BSL gives, huh).
I generally like that AFAB privilege post, but the "Izzard and O'Brien are doing great!!" paragraph is a LOT of a stretch. It feels almost calculatedly hurtful given O'Brien's contributions to transmisogyny past & present.
People who are subject to transmisogyny ARE privileged over those who aren't subject to it. It's just that "AFAB/AMAB" are shitty, oppressive, and IMPRECISE ways of addressing that fact; and it's a fact that's confounded by the corollary that many people who AREN'T subject to transmisogyny ARE often subject to (misplaced & therefore additionally dysphoric) misogyny, which is its own bundle of shitweasels...
Yeah, part of the reason I do not have more context on that link is I Have A Bunch Of Feelings About It (especially wrt O'Brien) and am still sorting them out. But: very much yes re the "imprecise" part.
(I think you got the people who are subject to transmisogyny have/n't got privilege over etc negations the wrong way round?)
I know, right? It's almost like this bizarre additive 'tally people's privileged and marginalized identities to figure out their Oppression Score' paradigm is a grotesque oversimplification! It's almost like the ideological contortions involved in sorting the Most Oppressed apart from the Acceptable Targets results in some broken theory, excruciating infighting and exclusion, and blatant disregard for reality! We might actually have to acknowledge nuance and individual variation in how people's lives are impacted by the kyriarchy. Jeez.
(bitter sarcasm directed at abstract movement patterns, definitely not you/your comment.)
