I was mildly embarrassed, last night, to realise that the list of places P-the-no-longer-unethical and I have spent time together over the course of the past six years goes a bit like this:

Cambridge (UK) (maybe a fortnight in total)
London (UK) (half a week?)
York (UK) (two days)
LA (USA) (5-6 days, I can't remember)
Paris (France) (long weekend)
Zürich (Switzerland) (long weekend)

... and we're about to add Stockholm (long weekend) to that list. *facepalm* Hurrah Academia, I suppose...? The only place one of us wasn't living or working at the time, in that list, is York.

I linked an article about disability-related stuff on Facebook the other day, and someone commented complimenting a comment on it ... and looking at the username and content of the comments, I was pretty sure it was you. (Not sure I comment enough here for you to recognize my username but I recognize yours.)

Oh, the comment I was referring to that appeared to by by you wasn't actually on Facebook - it was on an external article I shared on Facebook. This one: http://www.xojane.com/issues/i-am-not-a-person-with-a-disability-i-am-a-disabled-person

My assumption was that if I successfully added you on FB I'd be able to find the article link and hence the comment :-) (And thereby confirm that you were each other!)

Yeah, the article's a really good one by a friend of mine pointing out the problems with Person First Language and why most UK activists prefer the Social Model construction of 'disabled person'. I made a bunch of comments agreeing with/elaborating on her point when various people took issue with what she said.
