<333 I tricked myself into it by working out whether I could visit a friend on Thursday evening and then getting sucked in. I am... glad to have done the thing! Though now working out which of the things I want to go to is going to be fun...

I am especially torn by your 3pm Monday slot: my mum is on the panel for Ruling Party (in part because I protested an all-male lineup and suggested her as having directly relevant experience), but my friend is on the panel for Scientific Culture ...

(there isn't a contest really, mum will feel my absence rather more than friend will)

I don't know if you mean me but if I am in fact the friend you refer to I think you should go to your Mum's panel, which it sounds like you've already decided to do. I think about 5 of my top picks for things I really want to go to are scheduled across my panel, I seem to have the most annoying slot possible in the whole con.

I was thinking of nanila on the Scientific Culture one. I know you have one on Friday afternoon, but I have separately arranged to do a thing with my stepsister and our niece on Friday so will probably miss it :(

I am slowly working on the Grand Scheduling, at least as regards me and the children, and nudging fanf into telling me what his must-sees are.

I'm on Scientific Culture with Nanila :-) But yeah, it's inevitable that Worldcon is going to be chock-full of missing things that, if they weren't in the middle of Worldcon, you'd want to go to.
