(For the last two weeks...)

Reading. Harrow the Ninth, Tamsyn Muir. Finished, and then started all over again. I am smug about some of the things I called, AND ALSO I have reached a CONCLUSION about Camilla Hect's preferences in reading material. Spoilers! )

I have also hit the point in the Silm (JRRT) that yánasenesse begins at, so I have put the former down and am looking forward to picking up the latter.

Writing. I have made a start on a complete rewrite of the training manual for the LRP general operations desk I'm volunteering at, on the grounds that the extent version is both out of date and poorly organised. This is dependent on me actually having any brain, at all, ever. We will see whether or not I actually manage to get it done and signed off on before next event...

Cooking. Mooooooooore bibimbap. More salt-and-pepper tofu.

Eating. The standout win from the last LRP event (still all outdoors, and yes I had a migraine but I would much rather be lurking in a tent in a field with a migraine where I get free food prepared for me than lurking in a flat by myself, and I did actually even manage Some volunteering on the milder days) was the Fresh Rootz breakfast wrap, consisting of excellent potato-onion-cabbagey Misc plus Some Vegetables. They were very obliging about leaving out the beans. Also had two meals from Mhorish (FB link), one of which was an indifferent veggie burger and one of which was a very palatable roast dinner.

Also: BLUEBERRIES (from the plant on the patio), STRAWBERRIES (ditto, but also shop-bought), and JOSTABERRIES (first from the allotment).

Exploring. The set of fields the LRP takes place in! I got A to take me on a tour of the site after all the players had left but before we did, which was an entirely pleasant Tramp around, well, some fields.

Making & mending. MADE A START ON PUTTING THE FRUIT CAGE BACK TOGETHER today with help from A. Only a small one and I need to go back and do more of it (and be mildly annoyed I don't actually have all the parts I need for the extra door, ugh). Also removed the broken wheel from the greenhouse door. Baby steps.

Growing. Today I have put into the ground: another yacon; several tomatoes; some peas. The tomatoes and yacon I hope will survive. The peas I do not have particularly high hopes for, but oh well. I also actually managed some weeding and some putting down of some cardboard, on the basis that fuck it, if I'm going to have a migraine forever I had might as well at least have a migraine outside.

(I am sort of resigned to this being the bit where I do in fact just tip over into Migraine Forever because my brain's got used to that setting now and can't remember how to switch it off again. This resignation makes it much easier to have a proper think about how I want to reorganise my life and reallocate my capacity assuming that, well, migraine forever, as opposed to trying to cram all the shit I want to do into the decreasing windows during which I don't Have A Migraine.)

Holy shit we are going to have so many raspberries this year, though.

Observing. The bat! a robin having a grand old time trying to persuade me to dig up food for it! Several truly splendid moons!
