[for after all I've been using things very much like this to sort out my thoughts for about 12 years i.e. very nearly half my life at this point.]
Probably not actually of any interest to anyone else, though - just working out how many rounds of chemistry I actually need to do, and what the sets will look like...

... which means 49-57 dissolutions needed. 10 dissolutions = one round of chemistry, i.e. 5-6 rounds of chemistry. Okay.

... plus I want to look into acquiring a proper metamorphic sequence plus potentially some mantle sulphides. (Note to self: get your head round seawater curves, and also around how useful mantle sulphides are likely to be.)
Urgh right okay next up: timings. Each round of chemistry takes approx 2 weeks but I can overlap a week of digestion with a week of the previous batch's chemistry, probably, and only go a little bit wrong.
Cleaning takes 1 day+overnight + 2 days + 2 days + 2 days i.e. a solid week. This is going to be really tight in terms of having enough clean Teflon unless I stick it in the wash the moment it's emptied [for those playing along at home, the reason this is an issue is that it means I will go through a lot of cleaning acid]. In fact timings below are predicated on washing in batches of 24 not 12, so I could probably get the schedule a bit tighter but NOPE.

... which means that the best time for instruments is probably like the 19th-24th of August (it's that or push it into September, probably, given that I want a long block and therefore want a weekend), whiiiiiiiiich I have pencilled in as maybe TOG visiting. Right, no, okay, have pinned him down as a yes for that w/e, ergo have written down that I want as much mass spec time as possible in the week of the 25th-31st. (There is a Thing I'd like to go to in Cambs on the 30th. We shall See How The Machine Is Running; it might well be well enough that I can fuck off out of town for a few hours.)
(To be clear, I don't think I'm actually physically capable of sticking to this schedule: it'll be very punishing. But it would also be nice to do it, sooo. Here's a plan, and life will happen at it, and Safety Is Paramount...)
