... best GP visit ever

So I had my first appointment with my new GP today - yes, the one where the receptionists left me in floods in public two weeks ago - and it actually went astonishingly well, starting with getting called into the consulting room under the correct name (... though they still haven't actually entered it into the system as my default name, but I will deal with that when I take them some paperwork.)

Details contain needles, trans stuff, misc chronic illness.

Opening lecture of day 2! (Which is a Tuesday. This is relevant later.) The guy who gave this talk is my academic grandfather and an absolute mensch - seriously, he is funny enough that even if this is not your field I think it is worth reading for enjoyment value.
