Good things
Jan. 28th, 2011 05:35 pm1. Ani DiFranco last night. Bouncy and grinning and amazing. Utterly worth it.
2. Asking to be given a seat on the tube because I wasn't up to standing (bad pain day, endo lol), and having it Just Happen.
3. Discovering that the venue DID have seats in the area we'd booked tickets in, despite the entire booking system suggesting it was standing (sorry
numberland! :( ), so I could conserve energy for standing ovations, singing along etc.
4. And today I bought a walking stick - a thing I have been meaning to do for some time - so that on my bad days I can still actually do stuff without it causing me the levels of pain and fatigue I've been used to, and the rest of the time I'll be able to do stuff and enjoy it. I'll be able to go on tours of castles again without zoning out because of how badly my legs are hurting after half an hour! (I don't know why they do this. They're fine for hiking. Apparently they just fail.)
5. Lois McMaster Bujold (give or take an extremely WTH comment, by a character from a planet with supposedly extremely liberal sexual mores, about a second character no longer being bisexual because he was monogamous these days). She gets the geology plausible! And presumably the biology as well! And I raced through The Sharing Knife quartet (thanks be to
rmc28) and then read all of the bits of the Vor Saga that I'd borrowed from
jack - foolishly, only the first five books or so - and want mooooooooooooooore :-(
and and and I've EVEN started getting some work done, which I was blocking on majorly.
