recessional has just written an entry that goes a long way towards explaining why I identify so hard with Sherlock and Spike. Not all of it, I don't think - I didn't get that sudden sense of relief, of lightness, of being suddenly much larger (of containing multitudes with grace) - but certainly a very good shove in the right direction.

recessional always writes absolutely fucking amazing stuff, for serious. I would seriously recommend checking out M's fic on AO3 - even if you're not into A:tLA or Harry Potter or His Dark Materials, there is so much fantastic stuff there about people learning to piece themselves back together, and righteous anger, and and AND.
