Today, via a newly-installed dispenser in Barking Park, I have learned of the existence of the Feed Ducks Initiative: solar-powered entirely off-grid units that will take a payment (in this case £1) and dispense healthy-for-waterfowl less-prone-to-encouraging-algae-growth food. We were collectively delighted.

Oh, that's brilliant!

Here in Australia, feeding ducks bread = nutrient rich duck poo. Add warm weather and long periods of no rain and you get botulism outbreaks in lakes and ponds in Summer that kill dozens or more birds

How cool! I also love that it discourages bread feeding, which is nutritionally harmful for ducks!
