I think I'd seen the link to the Mechanical Watch explanation floating around over on tumblr but hadn't clicked through and I'm glad I did... wow.

(I am not at all sure I amassed *all* the info into my head but I was able to follow pretty much everything to at least some extent)

OMG that notebook. So clever!

I do have a use case for notebooks that go in front of laptops for people with limited desk space, but I bought multiple iterations on JetPens for pretty cheap; the Kokuyo version is only 3 dollars. And it has improved my work life so much. I actually use them in the office in front of my desk top computer; there's barely any desk on that side of the L, but I need to take notes from my computer screen, and struggling to fit an A5 notebook or even the larger landscape oriented ones in front of it just blows.

A completely excellent set of links.

The Sidekick makes sense for people who need/want to take paper notes when they are doing tasks where they can nestle it in a corner. (However, my handwriting is not usually good enough to warrant paper notebooks.
