This journal ends up being a bit of a mix of Srs Business (rants; things I've learned from counselling; &c), fannish & scientific joy, linkspams, poetry, & misc life updates. I tag fairly compulsively, though not always helpfully; I use content notes; I have written up a cast of characters; I aim to maintain this as a safer space, and appreciate (but do not expect!) call-outs when I mess up.

I like it if you introduce yourself when you subscribe, but it's definitely not required. Probably 30% of this journal is access-locked; I give access very readily. Fanworks are always public; AO3 is the canonical place to find my list of works. I'm very happy for you to link to anything that's public, and I'll be even happier if you let me know you're doing it. :-)

The subscribe/access thing is always awkward so I tend to be open about it: I've just surfed back six months through my journal and there are only 3 locked posts (all about small local gigs) but further back (and potentially in future) there is stuff about serious familial abuse so, for both these reasons (lack of content, and not wanting to distress anyone) I rarely add people to my access list unless I know them offline. You're not missing anything worth reading. ::wryface::

Access tends to see some work-related stuff, some trauma-related stuff, and currently a lot of Working Through My Head in ways that are too vulnerable to do in public but that I'm happy to have a known audience for. Reciprocation and interaction neither expected nor required :-)

I've seen you and your fab Swiss Army Gender userpic around for a while, but am finally getting around to Adding you via firecat. I'm a fannish, geeky trans man with 5 cats and a snake, an ex for a housemate and an Intrepid Arachnid for a partner and housemate, and a less active non-work life than I used to have. I'm not posting on DW or LJ much anymore, but that might change if I manage to free up the personal bandwidth and get back into the habit. I do read here regularly, though, and comment as moved to.
