I've had really good luck with nurtec and aimovig (since insurance wont cover emgality anymore), and have been able to keep medication overuse headaches from occurring (and unlike you, I am prone to them) since we switched to nurtec. (Admittedly, we stopped using triptans a while ago, in favor of DHE, but that's because we knew triptans were only making everything significantly worse.)

So I hope that your appointment goes well and they allow you to switch!
