Mar. 25th, 2013 03:32 pmI much prefer the German convention of e.g. LehrerInnen or Lehrer/innen to the common English convention more closely approximating "hero(ine)". Because, actually, I don't think heroines are parentheticals; and I prefer written habit that doesn't normalise masculinity and relegate women to an afterthought. So: hurrah heroInes and hero/ines, basically.
