Item the first: a letter from the NHS referral system confirming that my neurology referral was being processed! At the hospital I first thought of, even!

Item the second: PAKIDGE of STATIONERY, ordered as A Treet for having done a bunch of medical faff on Monday. The key impetus for the order was Distress Micro Glaze, which the internet insists is Good for making the shimmer (glitter) in shimmer (glitter) inks not... do the thing that is inherent to all glitter... of going on adventures everywhere. This is relevant to my interests because I own a bottle of TroubleMaker Ink Starry Night Blue (honestly more representative photo courtesy of r/fountainpens) that I want to make use of for headings in my notebooks, which involves lots of friction because of the frequent page turnings, which spreads the glitter everywhere -- and you can apparently achieve essentially the same effect by using a paraffin candle but I am Dubious and also wanted a Convenient Small TinJar, so now I have one! And then because it seemed silly to order only one thing and I wanted a more vibrantly orange ink and 30ml bottles of Diamine ink are only like £2.80 (this hobby is so much cheaper than perfume, good grief) I may have slightly also ordered one bottle each of Autumn Oak, Sepia and Kelly Green.

I have realised, you see -- I can't recall if I mentioned this -- that brightly coloured non-archival inks are something it's actually fun to play with, with no real downsides, when I'm annotating papers for reading group and also for Scrabble scores and the like. Ergo: small quantities of a bunch of them for fun, even though for most purposes I do in fact want the inks I'm using to be water resistant.

(A State Of The Collection post is in the works. >_>)

Item the third: a letter I hadn't quite got around to opening until mid-afternoon, because it looked like it was probably a bank statement or something, that turned out to be a neurology appointment. The gold star to the GP for getting the right hospital without being reminded is somewhat undermined by having referred me to, I think, the wrong clinic (as The Migraine Trust warned me might happen!) -- but UCLH are wonderful and have e-mail, so I have e-mailed in to say (1) is this the correct clinic? and also (2) PLS OFFER ME SHORT-NOTICE APPOINTMENTS IF OTHER PATIENTS CANCEL.

Now that I am communicating directly with The Hospital I Trust (which, importantly, has a prior in-house psychological evaluation of my approach to my chronic pain on record) I -- well, I spent a bunch of the afternoon, on and off, crying with relief, because all of a sudden a bunch of the extremely activated medical trauma stops feeling relevant, because, again, Hospital I Trust. I still have a GP appointment on Monday, but it's no longer vital. I'm still going to have migraines between now and whenever I get seen, but I am confident that I will get seen by someone I trust to interpret the data I can provide. Just: oh thank fuck.

We’ve got (and like really enjoy) Autumn Oak and Sepia like is on our to-buy list.
Dad is like more into bright colours than that so we gave him some Meadow with the TWSBI Go we gave him fro Father’s Day which looks pretty similar to the Kelly Green - but maybe that’s partly a screen thing? (he also borrow-kept a little bottle of Wild Strawberry from us in the summer for like a contrasting annotation colour. Getting a replacement is like also on our to-buy list!)

So like then we were able to persuade Dad to get us the Diamine Inkvent calendar as our Festive present this year and we’re like super looking forward to starting that.

(Also like Yay! for helpful health stuffs)
