On the downside: I spent something like 8 hours today at A&E following checking in with 111 this morning!
On the upside: A came with me; there was actual effective treatment (I think, though let's see how I feel when I wake up in the morning), and we got takeaway pizza on the way home.
Macabre humour: I decided, over the course of our afternoon in the waiting room, that "Domestic to resus[citation]" is equivalent to "broken bottle in aisle 18", or, put another way, "... we spilled a patient :("
Further comment [cn someone having a Very Bad Day, no details]: I was very impressed with the very calm very brisk slightly singsong tone employed, over the tannoy, for "Staff announcement. A&E doctor to resus. A&E doctor to resus, please. Patient arrived." For the most part, announcements requesting the presence of a doctor specified a doctor by name, so... yeah.
