Yesterday, with A, between dinner and dessert, I went to the allotment for the first time in [mumble] weeks.

It transpires that Spring Waits For No Thesis Swamp, and while [mumble] weeks away from the allotment over winter doesn't make too much of a mess of things...



... in spring you wind up with the entire plot waist-deep in grass.

So today I went back, and borrowed my neighbour's azada.









... and worked my way around the edges of the plot, before Sitting Emphatically Down and weeding half a bed. Around the onions.

Gosh but it's actually very nice to have a really obvious job in front of me, that doesn't require me to Optimise Crop Rotation or whatever, but does Get Me Out Of The House.

At the moment I'm working on topping up the bin as far as it'll go, and then using the rest as proto-mulch for the pathways...
