• I engaged in kind and gentle enquiry on the topic of Brexit. (Draw parallels between the People's Vote and Erdoğan all you like, but I will ask you to explain to me why that's a better comparison than, say, Switzerland. Because I do not, in fact, get it.)
  
• Today in Alex vs Bureaucracy: I have made a GP appointment for the end of the month. I will probably start getting HRT shortly thereafter. (!) I have also e-mailed the council (after they failed to pick up the phone) explaining that (i) I do not have a key to the toilet block on site, and if my plot is being rated as Grade A presumably I should have one, and (ii) given that at least a third of my plot is covered in carpet AND THEN RAISED BEDS I would very much appreciate it if they would either give me a rebate on rent for the year or arrange to help me clear said carpet, which was evidently laid in contravention of a previous plot-holder's tenancy agreement. A key has been put in the post, and my rent for the year has been waived.
  
• A is dyed and shorn; my todo list for the week includes actually taking some photos of him and making a list of the dyes I've used for future reference. (It turns out I did remember all the colours I'd used, but it'd be nice to be a little less uncertain next time around.)

SO MUCH CARPET.

It was laid down as weed-suppressant matting, I suspect, and then... raised beds... were built on top of it... and I spent most of the last year getting the weeds down to waist-ish height so only just... found... the carpet... and it's An Adventure. (...) So yes, demanded and achieved rebate for the year, hurrah.

<3 SO MUCH. For my next trick I need to work out if the next lump over is also on synthetic backing or if it is actually entirely natural fibre, because if it's natural fibre then I might just... leave it there. (It's certainly much less sturdy than the adjacent entirely-synthetic, but WHO KNOWS.)

At home: I have two passion fruit coming along slowly on the window sill of the bedroom (they'd probably enjoy it if I worked out how to keep them a bit warmer). I've also go tsome hopefully-eventually-purple-chilli, and several cherry tomato seedlings, and the baby lemons are slowly swelling up, and outside the strawberries are Thinking about Their Life Choices.

At the plot my allium are thinking about coming up, so that too is exciting. :)

I've been listening to the Friday night comedy podcast from the BBC for 2+ years, watching HIGNFY, reading the BBC news daily, and I'm *still* stumped on Brexit. So, sure.

Congrats on getting acknowledgement on the problems with your allotment! (Carpet? In an allotment? The mind boggles.)

I have just started seedlings myself, as winter here in Canada lasted *very* long this year, and we've only just now passed the risk of last frost. We'll see how they go.

Various flowers and vegetables. If and when any of the seeds actually germinate, I'll post here. Some of the seeds are...well, a bit old, so the chances are not 100%.

My parents have FINALLY left town, and so today I got up, took meds, and have been just hanging out on the couch catching up on people's lives.

I cannot believe how long we have been friends/acquaintances/whatnot and only now the Bureaucracy is getting around to the HRT. But yay, HRT!
