Reading. The Collapsing Empire, John Scalzi, and a bit more progress on Tales from the Inner City, Shaun Tan.
The Tan I am eating piecemeal and sip-by-sip; it's dense and layered and beautiful and I could tear through it but I'd rather let it soak in.
The Collapsing Empire: basically fun, still didn't really feel like the characters were real people, sort of ended up feeling like I'd read the same basic concept done better by someone else. (Can't now remember who, but there we go.)
Might get around to the new Ann Leckie this week, depending on whether I can coax myself into rebooting my laptop in Windows Vista.
TV. There is one remaining episode of Leverage! We watched the penultimate one the night before I set off for Cornwall. I have some feelings about the finale being entitled The Long Goodbye Job, but mostly I'm just... a bit baffled that it's about to end, because I've not quite felt like there's enough of a season arc to... feel like a finale's due? I would really like to be more emotionally engaged in this, but alas. On the upside, Eliot is still pretty.
Growth. Before setting off down south, I swung by the plot to (1) feed the bin and (2) pick up a token piece of carpet. For bonus points I ended up (3) chatting to my neighbour. Meanwhile, A got back from his Weekend In A Field earlier this evening, and has subsequently watered all of my plants for me -- and sent me a photographic status update on the lemon tree. I feel very loved.
Notable Pokémon. Hatched a shiny Cleffa! Acquired a perfect Houndour via a research task!
Notable animals. A SHREW was keeping me company while I was sorting paperwork in the mouldering ancestral pile this afternoon. Also we got a pair of goldfinches on the telegraph wires.
