Do we think that dishwashers fall in the domain of Anoia, goddess of Things That Get Stuck in Drawers?

(I'm pretty sure my dishwasher does, but that doesn't necessarily generalise.)

Definitely. After all, dishwashers have wire pull out baskets, which means that they have drawers almost platonically ideally for the sticking of things therein (and thereout, to cover the teaspoons that drop through onto the bottom.)

I think dishwashers are like a kind of stationary Golem. That is why they are like super fussy about how they are loaded and won't wash things properly if the humans put them in differently
(Parents' dishwasher seems to like enjoy frustrating humans)

The basket for silverware certainly does. Not so sure about the rest of it.

I suspect dishwashers are under the joint domain of Anoia and the Sock Monster (because tupperware lids in dishwashers are as socks in washing machines).

This seems reasonable, as we somehow keep ending up with more lids than bottoms.

I could see it, but I've also virtually never lived anywhere with a working dishwasher, so it's not something I have a lot of experience with.

Absolutely. Somehow I ended up with a lot of reusable plastic containers whose lids are just slightly too large to fit on the upper basket without catching against the... ceiling? The upper part of the dishwasher.

I've also got some of those flexible cutting boards that are exactly the right size to catch their corners on the upper basket when I put them in the lower part. I have to carefully bend the cutting boards over before I can close the dishwasher.
