I am identifying and articulating and enforcing boundaries. I am finding ways to take care of myself that build community. I am facing up to a bunch of stuff that scares me, and doing it anyway, on a wide variety of fronts, and it's helping me believe that I can keep going and keep making a difference.

Hope in the dark of uncertainty, and that.

I like you a lot. I always struggle to say what I like about people, so I respond to these things less often than I'd like, but I'll try to say a few things, though they hardly begin to capture what I like about you.

I appreciate your willingness through the years to talk with me about Stuff, including Stuff that we come at from rather different angles. I appreciate that the fact that I come at some Big Stuff from a very different perspective than you hasn't turned you away.

I also appreciate your posts talking about counselling and working through issues and ideas.

Also I like your enthusiasm for geology. I would love to get you to give me a tour of some rocks some day, if there were ever a context where it made sense.

I love you. I can't pick a specific thing to say because there are too many & my brain just can't, but it is still important to say that I love you a lot & for many many reasons but mostly just because you are you. I love the you that is, the you that was, & the you that will be, that is inside & working so hard to come out.

thank you for getting me to take my pain seriously, and helping me self-advocate, and offering me to be my "shouty crip advocate" across the Pond. It really really helped when dealing with medical shit. Like, I think maybe you morphed into a mental armor I conjure up for myself when I have to deal with that and don't have a shouty crip advocate in the room physically with me? So thank you.
