(I am having particular Thoughts about Seanan McGuire books in this context, stylistically speaking; I throughly and genuinely enjoy her stuff, and I'm interested in how much the stylistic stuff noted by AL does, I think, show up in SM's books; and my inner copy-editor is also deeply frustrated by continuity issues that creep in presumably as a result of just how much is getting written. Like: Indexing: Reflections has character A say to character B and before you ask, no, I didn't do X, and less than a page later has character B demanding of character A, apparently as though it had only just occurred to them, did you do X? And then in Red-Rose Chain there's an entire conceptual Thing about We Just Don't Know whether people who've been elf-shot dream even though we find out toward the end of The Winter Long that Karen's been into Raysel's elfshot dreams, and just. I want to help. *hands*)
