I discovered this on a trip to Whitby with a friend of mine who has rather limited mobility. Fortunately I had some gloves with me.
I also discovered that Whitby is entirely full of hills (well, I knew that before but it certainly drove the point home) and that those ex-NHS gaspipe steel chairs are quite heavy, especially if you are also moving two people's luggage. It did not take us long to dub it "The Iron Throne".
