So. Lo these many years ago, when I was young and carefree and taking many many fewer pills per day, I acquired a chunky seven-compartment dosette box not unlike this one.
Shit happened.
I replaced it with something more suited to my new world order (and in all seriousness I've now been using this style of box for a couple of years and I strongly recommend them).
I'm about to embark on a knitting project that uses seven types of bead (yes I know that lists six, there's also the pole star, which I'm doing as a distinct bead).
... guess what.

Wouldn't have worked so well back when i had to do a once-a-week injection, either. I have ones that have 5 sections per day and the day on them, and they all slot into a holder thingie. V useful for the ridiculous amount of medications and supplements I take every day.

Date: 2015-09-11 01:30 am (UTC)Also! Here's a thing that I don't understand about med boxes, okay. I like the idea of "you can take out a day and take it with you"; when my current box dies that is what I'm getting but I can't afford the cost (or rationalize it in my brain even if I could afford it) to just go ahead and get it. But! When I got somewhere, it tends to be overnight. Or over a few nights. So what I really end up needing is FridayPM, SaturdayAM, SaturdayPM, SundayAM - which would be 3 days in that model but if I use separate am/pm carriers I can do in 2. And I refill my meds in the middle of the day, not after bedtime meds. So why for the love of fuck do I have to always pick which day to do it in the middle of? I apparently need a med box that has FridayPM attached to SaturdayAM on the other side. But those don't exist. And actually I'd probably get confused if they did, after so long with this kind. BUT STILL I BURN, MR A. (SO DO I, MR J.) (don't mind me; i missed my annual rewatch of the movie of the musical of the second continental congress and thus have random lines creeping in when i least expect them.) (also i keep finding myself slashing US presidents unexpectedly. well. unexpectedly when it's out of the context of the movical.)
butseriously. do any other people have this med box issue? I go away for a weekend and use my individuals as PM/AM rather than AM/PM (if that wording makes sense), and then it just feels really, really awkward to go back to the AM/PM style in the weekly box. But it's never awkward to go to the PM/AM for a weekend. (Maybe I wouldn't have the issues I think I would if I found (or relabeled) a box to be PM/AM.)

Date: 2015-09-11 05:50 am (UTC)crapcrip accoutrements i carry when travelling it hardly makes a difference... [What the heck, dreamwidth spellchcker, "accouterments"?! *investigates* Hunh. Apparently this is a cromulent spelling sometimes used in the US. O_o Very well, carry on, then. This makes no orthotactic/etymological sense to me, but...very well.](no subject)

Date: 2015-09-11 04:03 am (UTC)hellIKEA the other day, but alas it was full of screws and other ...things i don't know much about, and it wasn't worth buying an entire box of screws et al i don't actually need just for the box. Although i did let the thought wander across my mind before i dismissed it. ;p(no subject)

Date: 2015-09-11 08:55 am (UTC)The main problem I have though, which is one that I can't solve looking at pictures online is that I want a divided-compartment travel-storage-solution (for craft stuff and jewelry) that *works when inverted* seriously, who decided that sure, you want to put all the things into separate divisions but clearly you will never put the container into a bag and maybe shake it around a bit?

Date: 2015-09-30 03:41 am (UTC)I've not been using pill boxes in day to day life for a while now, one reason is that the session of popping and putting in would probably be too much for my hands. However lack of ease of checking do I have the right ones for as needed whilst away from home has prompted me to buy a few different ones to try, mail order, so they aren't here yet. I'm also planning on figuring out a weekend box/bag, sorting that out would save a chunk of time.
