-- or, specifically, Midriver, which I adore. I have been contemplating the merits of getting here is temporarily who I am etched upon my flesh somewhere, but actually the more I think about it the more I think I want an engraving or woodcut of Westminste Bridge as synecdoche.

Anything pre-1862 is the previous bridge, rather than the current (its having seven arches being rather the point -- and not, as I typoed, the pont). My options (as picked from the gov't art collection) seem to be an 1895 engraving from Larive & Fleury; oooor the 1895 engraving, pretty much. So *chinhands* and I will think about this more, but.

It's not perfect, but there are some interesting readings if you imagine it as a band and read circularly from different starting points, which has an interesting thematic echo of who only by moving can balance/only by balancing move.
