The most exciting animal I have recently found is Tibetan mastiff. No it's like the size of a yak and is a LION BEARD DOG.

I have something of a soft spot for warthogs (and even named a trading system for warrants after them: the start-up sound was amazing) but, if called upon to name a favourite mammal, I would say the Northern Hairy-Nosed Wombat.

Mongeese are related to meerkats? (No, Firefox, I did not mean "beermats". I'm not even sure what a beermat is, but I'm sure it's much less interesting!) Also, I didn't know meerkats posted sentries in trees. I thought they just had hind-legs-on-ground ones like prairie dogs.

The symbiotic thing is neat, also. And I am failing to think of other egalitarian mammal herds.
