This may sound stupid, but you have an electric wheelchair? Those always seemed kind of cool. (Not cool as in "able bodied people would have a blast in them" but cool as in "I wonder how technology has evolved for wheelchairs and is it as useful as it sounds?")

Hah, actually, it's cooler than that - I have a manual chair with power-assist wheels :-) Means I get upper-body exercise with less damage to my hands/wrists (I'm hypermobile with significant RSI). It's (much) heavier than a pure manual but more manoeuvrable than a pure electric.

The full stats on my chair: Kueschall Champion with e-motion wheels, Jay3 cushion and deep-contoured backrest + headrest.

This is pretty much the best option for most of what I want to do, but isn't for everyone :-) People with less upper-body damage (e.g. most paras) are better off with a high-end pure manual (faster, lighter, easier to lift, more manoeuvrable, don't need to worry about battery life, fewer expensive parts to break...); some people are much better off with fully-electric chairs (and some days I would be, but not enough days).

How inconvenient; and it doesn't seem to be immediately easy to find out what they are in general made of, but I imagine I'm way behind you there.
