Spoilers, obviously!

I LOVED SO MUCH ABOUT THIS. THIS SHOW. THIS SHOOOOOOOOOOW. ♥_♥

  • NYPD only needs one vampire-hunter (this is funny to me especially because I recently watched a couple of episodes of... a show with Housemate, in which Sarah Michelle Gellar was playing a CEO's daughter only the clothes and the voice and the mannerisms were Buffy so I interpreted the whole the whole thing as a majorly surreal crossover)
  • "in the right company" ffff you TWO you have chosen to build yourselves a tiny fucked-up family <333
  • I CANNOT GET OVER THE FACT that they had the teaching-surgeon play RUDIE CAN'T FAIL to his undergrads (which (1) fucking hilarious (2) I didn't realise the Clash were still enough of a General Thing that that'd be funny to most...?)
  • Sherlock trusts Joan. He trusts her enough that (1) he let her do the work while he went to sleep and (2) he didn't actually incapacitate her when she woke him up by touching him.
  • of the four suspects, it's the black dude who's the respectable adult in the suit... and who hadn't done time for sexual offenses [against white women]. Thank you, show. Thank you.
  • "I'd do the same for you if you lost all your teeth in a prison fight."
  • I only noticed this on the second watch-through - in the scene where we get close-ups on Marcus using a magnifying glass, he's holding it steady with his bad hand.
  • the beautiful, beautiful moment of 800-proof solid-gold [personal profile] sebastienne-bait. First watch through I went "YOU MUST WATCH THIS EPISODE. AS SOON AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE." I spent the rest of the afternoon buoyed up knowing that I'd get her reaction to it. And it was GORGEOUS (she actually keysmashed so hard that she crashed her IM client first time). Relatedly: I would like to note how fucking delighted I am by how matter-of-fact Holmes is about cross-dressing, and how he knows exactly where to pick up a ridiculous froofy ballgown that reads as Disneyesque in his size on zero notice.
  • Ms Hudson and CLYDE'S LITTLE SHARK AND STEGOSAUR TORTOISE-WARMERS.
  • The beautiful acting in the scene where Fleming summons Joan -- the way she falls right back into the teacher/student power dynamic, and she is scared of him and she looks up to him and she desperately wants things to be okay.
  • I am so not over Sherlock as Joan's counsellor, nor over how much he trusts and likes her and how utterly obvious he makes this.
  • More not-evil female cops with speaking roles!

And then! The blatant attempt to get Sherlock out of New York! The name-dropping of Ms Hudson! I am all tingly and anticipatory about how the finale's going to go down. Shooooooooow. :D
