Relatedly, if you are in the UK and you do not have institutional affiliation and you don't want to keep pestering your friends for every third paper you might want to skim-read and sci-hub does not yet have the relevant pdfs then it is possible that you might be interested in checking whether your local library participates in the Access to Research scheme! But you... do very much need to actually physically use a dedicated computer in a library branch to read shit and it sounds like it's all DRMed to hell and back, so that's not... optimal. We'll see how desperate I get.

Unrelatedly I have also spent a bit of time today ferreting around Libro.fm, notable for selling non-DRMed audiobooks and profit-sharing with independent book shops who've signed up with them. Thus I discovered Bimble Books in Thrive Cafe (who might be where CB2 historically was? it certainly looks like it from the map but my mind is Refusing to accept the possibility that CB2 is no longer a going concern). On the one hand I have kind of wound up three deep in a stack of Very Particular Stereotypes, but given that the reason I found them was hunting a present for ... a Very Particular Stereotype ... this is more of a feature than a bug.
