[Note that redditors are very Oh No That Is An Unhappy Snail (Or A Horny Snail), but... it's too small to be horny (as far as anyone knows); nobody else in the tank is exhibiting stress and indeed I've accidentally trained at least one of them that it doesn't need to retract if it gets unceremoniously booped in the face because the thing it has been face-booped with is undoubtedly Tasty Noms; and it's been doing this intermittently the entire time we've been observing it, apparently completely spontaneously, while otherwise as happy and curious as it's possible for something without, you know, a central nervous system... to be. We are kind of at "maybe it just likes stimming ¯\_(ツ)_/¯"]
